Book Review - I Love You, Beth Cooper

I Love You, Beth CooperI Love You, Beth Cooper by Larry Doyle

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What a fun read this was. It brought back memories of the great 80s movies like Sixteen Candles and The Breakfast Club and Say Anything.

Denis Cooverman is Valedictorian of his high school class. He's also a major nerd with only one friend, the sexually ambivalent Rich. Rich persuades Denis to confess his long-time crush on the head cheerleader, Beth, in his "don't regret missing out on saying how you feel" Graduation speech.

What follows is a graduation night for the ages. Filled with drugs, alcohol, sex, violence and rock and roll, the evening presents the true side of Beth Cooper which is a very different image than the one Denis held for years. It also provides Denis with the chance to face his many fears.
