Movie Review - Four Christmases
Steven and I took in Four Christmases on Christmas day. It seemed like a light hearted fun flick and it partially was. It was also emotionally dark in a few places and very slapsticky in others. It felt like they weren't quite sure which way to go.
For those who haven't seen the ads or the previews, Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon are a couple who sneak off for the holidays each year but get busted on live TV as being in town so they have to go to each of their parents' respective homes.
However, the funny parts were really funny. I actually laughed until I cried. The whole episode with Robert Duvall as Vaughn's Dad and Jon Favreau and Tim McGraw as his brothers was laugh-out-loud material but Vaughn trying to install a roof satellite dish hit my funny bone hard.
The movie is never going to make any one's "Best Of" lists but watching it was a very pleasant way to spend some time.
